Help with 3 day itinerary

My husband and I will be in Provence for 3.5 days in october, arriving at noon in Marseille (plane) and renting a car to head out. The day we arrive is a Friday. We would like to visit medieval villages (not very big cities unless they are charming). Any suggestions?

Also, do you think it is worth maybe visiting medieval villages for two days and use the third day to see a picturesque costal area?

Thanks

Hi Estelamg,

If you drive west for 90 min to Aigues Mortes, I think it%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for. It%26#39;s a 13th century walled town with lots to offer. Also nearby are lots of coastal areas, L%26#39;espiguette, Grand Motte, Grand Travers, Le Grau du Roi. Hope this helps, B

On the other hand, you could go northeast to the Lubéron and see Oppède-le-Vieux, Ménerbes, Gordes, Bonnieux, and Roussillon, all fine medieval villages. You could see most of them in one day, as they%26#39;re small and not far from each other.

On another day you could visit the charming small town of St-Rémy and then go up to the ruins at Les Baux.

On the third day, head over to Cassis for some beautiful coastal scenery, perhaps fitting in a boat tour of the calanques.
