recommendations avignon, aix, st. tropez? HELP!

hi everyone, my partner and i land at the Toulon-Hyeres airport on Saturday afternoon.

we have free time until 12pm on monday when i need to report to a conference in Lalonde les Maures.

we rented a car from hertz and are now stuck - we don%26#39;t know the area that well and of course thought about spending the extra time in St. Tropez but we are really open to recommendations. also, seems also like a lot of the places are fully booked in St. Tropez.

the big thing for us is when we get to the hotel we want to be able to relax, unwind, have dinner in a peaceful and beautiful place (we are picky so a 4 star would be important to us) then spend sunday sightseeing.

i know a lot of places are closed on sundays so any suggestions on helping us with organizing our schedule, we are really lost and can%26#39;t make a decision. thanks so much!

You could stay in St Remy and drive to l%26#39;Isle sur la Sorgue on the Sunday to see the fab antiques market there. It%26#39;s way beyond my pocket so I%26#39;ve never stayed there but Chatea des Alpilles is said to be the best in the area. chateaudesalpilles.com

And eat at this restaurant, again beyond my means but it has a couple of michelin stars

You won%26#39;t be too close to the sea in St Remy but the area is beautiful, loads to do and see, a great town for foodies, and %26#39;real%26#39; Provence within a short drive.
