Nice in December

Is it worth visiting Nice in December? Will the trips to various places of interest be available then? And what will the temperature be in mid December? Looking for a mid priced centrally located hotel with TV and air conditioning.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

The last time we were in Nice in December we had spring-like weather, warm enough to have lunch outside every day.

In December Nice will have a large Christmas market; surrounding towns will have their own versions, along with lights and other decorations. All the usual suspects will be open until Christmas, and some after that.

You won%26#39;t need a hotel with air-conditioning in December. But the hotel I%26#39;d recommend, the Mercure Promenade des Anglais, has it in case there%26#39;s a freak weather front. The hotel is about a 10-minute stroll from Vieux Nice; it%26#39;s on a side street by the Le Meridien, with which the Mercure shares a wall. The main shopping area is a 2-block walk.

Cool evenings, and definitely no requirement for air conditioning. You may be lucky like Cattalus but December weather can be mixed. Traditionally November is the rainiest, which will have past, but this last year all Europe has had a lot of untypical months. A sacrifice to the rain-gods may be a good investment.

Mercure is a good reliable choice, both their one on the Prom, and the Mercure Grimaldi, or even their tiny Marche aux Fleurs if you can get in.
