Car park at the Speedferries terminal

Hello!

We plan to spend a five day holiday in London over Christmas and want to leave our car in Boulogne, we will cross the Channel as foot passengers. Is the car park at the ferry terminal secure and big enough? Any advice welcome. Thank you for your help.

Suggest you forget Car/Ferry and take the train all the way, Amiens to Lille, then Eurostar to London.

I agree with %26#39;EssexWanderer%26#39;.

Going by train will possibly be a bit more expensive but would be very much quicker.

You are only going for five days and your original route would take you considerably longer than by train.

Presuming the Tunnel is back to normal by December then the journey should be more relaxing, quicker, less chance of delays by inclement weather and no worries about the security of the car at Boulogne.

Thank for your help!

I think the Eurostar will be more expensive as there are three of us.Boulogne is nearer Amiens than Lille and the crossing costs £16 return per person.

As your foot passenger fares will total £48, it is not much different to £55 for a car and passenger return fare. Providing you have fuelled up in France before crossing the Channel, your fuel costs will be the same as at home. The other factor to consider is that on Christmas Day there will be no public transport in London or anywhere else and on Boxing Day there will be a Sunday service. There will also be no congestion charge in the centre of London on both these days as they are public holidays. So, therefore, there is ample justification to take your car.

Thank you! We plan to cross on December 27th and will be staying at the Travelodge Southwark, near Waterloo station. The hotel does not have a car park.Anyhow, we would dread driving in London!
