Roscoff to...?

As a stranger to France I%26#39;d like to know what the region from St Brieuc to St Nazaire has to offer in late September...Is this region called Cotes Finistere?

Landing at Roscoff we would like to explore long quiet sandy beaches %26amp; interesting small towns %26amp; villages. Should we turn East to St Brieuc or West %26amp; cut down to the Southern side of this region?

We would really appreciate comments from folks who are familiar with this area, who also may have visited/lived in this area through September/October.

I fear that being adjacent to the Bay of Biscay may indicate stormy rain?

Advice on the Plymouth - Roscoff ferry is also most welcome.
