Meeting at CDG Airport and other things

Hi...two questions I%26#39;m hoping to get a couple of answers to!

1. CDG airport - my friend and I are taking separate flights from NY (me on Northwest thru amsterdam and she will be direct JFK to Paris on American). Neither of us has international phone service ... Is there a site that shows the layout of the CDG airport so we can figure out where to meet? Do all the international flights tend to arrive in the same terminal. I was planning on taking the train into Paris...but was hoping we could meet up and ride together if there was some landmark we could both look for there. Any hints from someone who knows the airport well?

2. Museums - Do the museums in Paris require appointment times like some of the ones in Florence? Or can you go whenever you want if you have a pass?

2. BONUS question... any good salsa spots in Paris? I love to try to see how people dance salsa around the world!

Thanks!!

With to possibility of various en route problems; weather delay, mechanical delays, is difficult to guarantee that you%26#39;ll be able to find one another at CDG. I recommend a solid contigency plan to meet at your hotel if you do not find one another by a certain time.

Generally no.

I asked this same question about CDG as my husband, son and I are in the same predicament as you and your friend.

One helpful trip advisor suggested the Sheraton Hotel between Terminal 1 and 2.

Your NORTHWEST flight will arrive at CDG #2-F.

Your friend%26#39;s AMERICAN flight will arrive at CDG #2-A

CDG #2-A and #2-F are interconnected. The walk between to two terminals is approx 1 km and should take an easy 12-15 minutes...even rolling luggage along in your wake.

Depending on the not-so-minor-details of your scheduled flight arrival times...you can agree to meet just outside of the French Customs EXIT onto the main public concourse of either terminal. Pre-arrange for one or the other of you to make the transfer between terminals and the other to STAY PUT...rooted to the spot. Thisminimizes the potential of both of you wandering around a strange airport like %26#39;mice-in-a-maze%26#39; searching for cheese.

If there are significant flight delays, then have a %26#39;..Plan B..%26#39;. This most usually is that you will each make your own separate ways from CDG into Paris and meet at your hotel or accommodations.

CDG TERMINAL DIAGRAMS--

You should Print Out copies of these diagrams and you should BOTH remember to carry them with you. You should BOTH also have the EXACT name and address of your hotel or accommodations in Paris written down on a piece of paper...or better yet a Print Out of the ACCESS/LOCATION page from your hotel%26#39;s web site..OR..a print-out of a detailed local street map from PAGES JAUNES. If your preferred mode of airport transfer from CDG to Paris is TAXI PARISIAN...then having this will minimize the chances of mis-communication with the taxi driver(s). Several hotels in Paris may have similar names...or address may be located on similarly named streets in Paris.

In our family we meet at the hotel because we%26#39;ve done the %26quot;we should be able to meet at the McDonald%26#39;s%26quot; routine. It%26#39;s just much less stressful to make your individual ways to the hotel, and if one did indeed miss a flight or have some other problem, the hotel desk is the best place to leave a message.

The one who first arrives at the hotel is responsible for purchasing the wine and cheese for the cocktail hour and identifying a brasserie or two as possibilities for dinner.

If it%26#39;s still there and still the same - Barrio Latino, Bastille Metro - on rue du Faubourg St-Antoine - a salsa dance club.

Thanks everyone for such great info! I love this forum! :-)

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;2. BONUS question... any good salsa spots in Paris? I love to try to see how people dance salsa around the world!%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

Sorry...don%26#39;t know all that much about Salsa dance clubs in Paris. But as noted above, BARRIO LATINO--46 rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine, 75011, Métro: Bastille-- http://www.buddhabar.com/new/barrio.php --is reputed to be %26#39;..Salsa-central..%26#39; for Paris

Perhaps some of this may help some to get you started
