Paris 6th Arrondissement

Hi we are going to Paris for my husband%26#39;s 40th birthday.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to eat out in the area?

thanks

For the night of your husband%26#39;s birthday or more generally? What sort of food/experience are your looking for (eg: traditional French/modern French; fine dining/bistro etc) and how many €€€ are you prepared to part with?

|||

Hi it would be more general, we are after something quite traditional and not too expensive, so ££ (no euro symbol to hand!). Thanks

This may actually be in the 6th but I think you should be ale to walk to it with no trouble...

Restaurant L%26#39;INSULAIRE, 16 rue Grégoire de Tours

Gregoire de Tours is a small street just off the Blvd. St. Germain. We usually have dinner here the first night on a trip to Paris. One appitizer, two main courses, cheese plate for desert, and a bottle of house wine usually comes to about 35 euros... total.

No doubt others will add to the prospects lists....but you can very quickly expand your choices by taking advantage of the %26#39;..SEARCH IN:..%26#39; feature (located below the Green line in the main PARIS FORUM topics page) of this TA site, using %26#39;..Restaurants in the 6th..%26quot; etc as your basic search criteria. You can also %26#39;tinker%26#39; with this Search feature for other information in a hurry.

This restaurant stood out to us on our recent visit. The decor and architecture were almost worth the trip by themselves. And the food matched up. I thought it was a great value. You can look at the menu on their website:

Even if you don%26#39;t eat there, I recommend stopping by the bar for a drink. The atmosphere is truly exceptional.

Oh, one other recommendation: make a reservation, and ask for a table in a quiet area.
