Paris to Giverny

I will be flying into Paris in the morning and am renting a car at the CDG airport. Is it possible to do a day trip to Giverny from the airport area hotel?

Yes, very possible. I have driven to Giverny from Paris for a day trip and, depending on who I am with and how long they want to stay in Giverny, also visited Versailles in the same afternoon; back in Paris for an apero and dinner.

CDG to Giverny is 1 1/2 hours using the A14 (7€ toll). Going round the peripherique would add 1/2 hour on. But traffic can be jammed up.

Thanks for the replies. I think we will try the toll road and go to Giverny for the day. I know that in Austria you have to buy a vinnette for your car, is it the same in France? Do they have people in the toll booths so you can pay as you go?

The use of French tollways does not require a sticker. You pay as you go at the booths, and there are manned booths so you should have no problem.

I am not sure when you are going to Giverny, but the season ends soon (I think the last day is the end of October). Towards the end of the season, all the flowers would be wilting and the garden would not be very attractive.

My trip is planned for April 23-May 21. Is the flower season in the Spring?
