Hire car from Sardinia to Corsica

Is it ok to hire a car at Alghero airport and then take it by ferry to corsica for a couple of weeks, I didnt think it would be a problem but have read somewhere that it might be.

Thanks

I don%26#39;t think it can be done...or at least, not with the knowledge of the hire company.

I doubt very much whether the ferry operators could care less, so they are not going to stop you, and there are no border controls that I can remember, but obviously if you broke down or had an accident you%26#39;d have a problem.

It also costs money to take your car across.

But your best bet would be to ask a hire company - things may have changed (and then, if they haven%26#39;t, and you want to do it nonetheless, go to a different company!) You%26#39;d have to take it back to Sardinia, too.

I have both rented on Corsica and taken rental cars there (but from Nice, not Sardinia). There are indeed serious concerns in taking a rental to Corsica, not the least of which concerns your ability to do so under the rental terms by which you obtain your car.

I personally should not recommend it. Clarifying your intentions with your rental company may ultimately convince you to make other arrangements.
