rose wine

hi this is the first time i%26#39;m staying in paris as an adult i just wondered what rose wine is the best thanks if any one replys

Haven%26#39;t had a bad one yet. Cote de Provence, chilled and pretty cheap.

In most restaurants you will find that the %26quot;vin de la maison%26quot; usually served by the pichet in 1/4 and 1/2 litre amounts is fine and very good value, particularly the rosé.

Saluté!

Best is certainly subjective!

I personally like Billecart Salmon rose%26#39; (champagne)

Most rosés tend to be serviceable table wines. The only %26#39;label%26#39; for rosés that comes readily to mind is %26#39;..TAVEL..%26quot;.

But...you%26#39;re in Paris...so try doing a bit of research (or at least that%26#39;d be my story...%26#39;n I%26#39;d stick to it) and try out different wines---i.e. Meursault, Pouilly-Fuisse and Montrachet from Burgundy; Sancere and Vouvray from the Loire; Muscadet from Britany; etc...and let%26#39;s not forget Champagnes. Perhaps a bit like Golilocks...taste a few until you find something that%26#39;s %26#39;..juuuust right..%26#39;.

thank you everyone x

Buy any rose de Provence or any rose for that matter. It is mostly a summer wine though so selection is wider in summer.

Mmmmm - Tavel! The thing is, though, if you are used to the sweet American style %26quot;blush%26quot; wines, a French rose could be quite a shock. Typicaly the best ones are dry and not sweet at all. However, they are wonderful wines that are light, fruity and floral. I enjoy drinking them in the summer with a light meal. Definately a great picnic wine. (Fruity doesn%26#39;t necessarily mean sweet.)

We especially like the rosés from domaines near Cassis.

I just go to the supermarket and buy the stuff for 3 euros. Tastes fantastic. And at those prices you can afford to experiment a bit.

They also don%26#39;t seem to be as alcoholic as our Aussie wines, which pack a punch.
