Hi am going to Montpellier for a week from 2-9 October and wanted to stay in a hotel with charm and character that does not cost the earth!!! I have looked at %26quot;Hotel du Parc%26quot; but can%26#39;t find out how to book it!!! Any other suggestions???? Needs to be in a nice area - don%26#39;t mind a little walk into town. Can anyone help please???? Thanks in advance!! PS -Need a nice break - just got back from Brussels and hated it!!!!

The hotel du Parc seems to be the best to me by far (hotel with charm and character/best prices). And it seems quite easy to make a reservation : just go on the Contact page (like for any other hotel): hotelduparc-montpellier.com/Contact_gb.htm

Hi thanks for your reply - sorry have been away for a few days. I did try and book via their contact page but got no response - I then managed to speak to them in my awful French and was told they have rooms for 83 euros per night - seems to be the top rate for some reason - thought it may be a little lower in October! Anyway I was told to email in with my details and despite looking all over the internet for their email - can%26#39;t find it!!!! I think I must be unlucky with this booking or perhaps it is a test that only the most persistant people get a room!!!! I will have to pluck up the courage to ring them again, I think!!!!

They were fairly prompt in emailing me back after I submitted it (2-3 days). We are staying there in early October before heading to Barcelona. Can%26#39;t wait. Good Luck!

Hi thanx for your msg - the link was not working for some reason at the time I tried booking, but in the end I did manage to book! Unfortunately now we cant go away and had to cancel!! Think you probably got my room as it was the last one when I booked!!! Garden room at the back???!!!! Feel really envious that you are going now!! By the way, don%26#39;t know if you have been to Barcelona but I went there a couple of years ago and loved it! Did not like %26quot;La Ramblas%26quot; at all - but you must go the %26quot;cathedral of the sea%26quot; in the gothic city - fab medieval church with an awe inspiring feeling! Sure Gaudi go inspiration there for his Sagrada Familia. They do a tour at the Sagrada in English once a day this time a year and it is worth going - although I was surprised at how unfinished the building was, how often do you get to see a cathedral in the making? If you want any other advice about Barcelona, pls ask!!! Have a fab trip!
