We will have a 7 hour layover at CDG during the day and would like to get into Paris and take a short bus tour of downtown highlights. What do you recommend?

Tricky... bearing in mind it could take
close to 2 hours to clear customs and get
into town and you need to be back at the
airport at least 2 hours before your flight
plus 45 minutes or so to get to the airport...
2:00 hours clear customs/get into town
0:45 minutes to return to CDG
2:00 hours before departure

4 hours 45 minutes leaving only barely
2 hours to see Paris.
I don%26#39;t see a bus tour being possible. In
your position I%26#39;d take the train from CDG
to St Michel/Notre Dame and walk over to
Ile de la Cite. You can admire the views
and/or cross the bridge to Ile St Louis
and have a stroll about there too. Then
back to the metro and off to CDG. You won%26#39;t have much time but you can have a look at Notre Dame, and see Ile St Louis which is pretty well untouched since the 17th century.
Hopefully you%26#39;ll have more time to explore on a future visit.

I totally agree with Rob. You will get more of a feel for Paris by a short walk around this area than from a bus. Sit on a sidewalk cafe if it is warm enough and watch the people go by.

You can rent a car with driver to take you to the sites. I have a number if you are interested. Email me direct.

I wouldn%26#39;t risk more than 2 hours of the 7 hours for actually seeing something. If it was me, and I might not ever see Paris again, a taxi direct to the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre if you like art. It will cost $50 american each way, but you will never forget Paris. And the folks back in Arksansas will love the photo%26#39;s.
