Carcassone Airport to The Cite

Hello,

Can anyone please tell me how far is the airport in Carcassonne to the Cite? We are planning a trip in October and I know that you can actaully take a shuttle bus that cost about 5 euros but wanted to know how much roughly that will be in a cab. Also we are planning to stay in Le Grand Puits and if anyone have more information on that B%26amp;B I would be very very grateful.

Thank you very much.

Journey time into the city is 10 minutes and the cost is around €12.00 and to La Cite €15.

Hi, sorry I havent been to Carcassone yet. I am going the middle of October so I guess you would be there before me. Would you please let me know the price that you pay for the taxi to your hotel from the airport. I heard only good things about the place you are staying in but unfortunately the dates we wanted to go for the B%26amp;B was fully booked. Enjoy your time there.

The bus is cheaper if there are only 2 of you - its almost worth going by taxi if 3 people. Easier by taxt as they should be able to go into the Cite. A few years ago we hired a car from the airport, drove tothe Cite, checked into the Donjon and were sitting in a restaurant (this was January and not too many are open) when the rest of the Brits got there for the late lunch.

Enjoy and please post details of the accommodation - I have seen it from the outside and wondered what it would be like (we stayed at the Etap up the road and cycled around the Cite and town before heading off east to Montpellier. Had the Cite to ourselves but it was late November.

just returned yesterday.

Stayed in maison coste B%26amp;B and would highly recommend it for its style and price and the welcome from the hosts.

Used the shuttle as its the cheapest for a couple. sharing a cab with others would be cheaper as already posted.

Bus is pricey for the length of journey but stops everywhere, is punctual, and has free maps and attractions booklet as you get on. I think it subsidizes the other public transport buses (agglobuses), as we used bus no 1 to get out to carcassonne plage (country park and bathing lake) and this cost just over a euro one way and is handy if you are without a car and is a very pretty spot (though be aware you travel through some social housing grot spots on your way out of the city). However its safe ,cheap and easy to use.

Hi there,

Does this bus from the airport go anywhere near the Inter-hotel Espace-cite and where does one catch the bus and what is its number?

I have quite severe arthritis in the knees, is Carcassonne going to be a problem? I%26#39;m thinking I will need my walking stick!

All info gratefully received - if you reply this next week I won%26#39;t see it as I will be away in Scotland and I will thank you later!
