I%26#39;m travelling to paris tomorrow with my boyfriend who has lived in paris all his life until 5 months ago. We%26#39;re going as it%26#39;s his birthday on the 23rd, and I wanted to do something a little bit special... not too expensive as I%26#39;m a student, but also nothing cheesy or touristy as he%26#39;s a native! Any Parisians have any suggestions? He%26#39;s a 23 year old chef.

Boy: do you know how to pick %26#39;em. He%26#39;s a Parisian and a chef and you have a small budget.
As you can tell, not a local but my suggestion would be the €13.50 prix fixe, 2 course lunch (with a glass of house wine and a coffee) at the seriously good Le Pre Verre in the 5th, followed by a stroll in the Jardin Luxembourg.
I also like a sunset picnic in the Parc du Champs de Mars (looking up at the Tour Eiffel). Pick up fresh provisions at a street market (Rue Cler is closest, but I%26#39;m not a big fan).
A bit more upmarket, I would have suggested the €34, 3 course, prix fixe dinner at the Le Temps au Temps’ chef’s new venture, ItinĂ©raires. But your chances of getting a booking at this stage are slim.
Good luck.
