Ajaccio to Prunilli gorges

I am going to nice for christmas and was going to take the ferry to Corsica and stay for around 4 days. I would not be driving, but would love to see more of Corsica. I was dissapointed reading about the lack of public transport and was wondering if I could hire a bike and head for Prunelli gorges as it sounds wonderful, Bare in mind I am a smoker. Is it all uphill, I am a good enough at walking but around 5 miles would be my limit. Also any other recomendations how to fill the other days. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Prunelli gorges are indeed an ideal introduction to Corsica, but of course the route for the full circuit is over 60km and of course it is hilly, but not ecessively so by Corsican standards. You might be best served by looking around Ajaccio for a bus tour - it%26#39;s a popular excursion for cruise ships.

You might like to consider a train ride on Corsica%26#39;s rail line from Ajaccio to Bastia through some absolutely magnificent scenery, especially the mid section around Vizzavona and Corte.
