We%26#39;ve planned to go to Paris for 2 days at the beginning of December. It%26#39;s not our first time and even if it%26#39;s always nice to wander around the streets, have a look at the Christmas shop windows, Notre Dame, Louvre ...etc I was wondering if someone could suggest a less touristy but typically parisienne place we could visit: you know, one of those places you don%26#39;t usually have time to see and that locals know very well.
We are 2 60yr old couples and our hotel is near Place Monge.
Thanks in advance!

When we stayed in that area we enjoyed buying lunch in a bakery and enjoy the baguettes and eclairs in the Arenes de Lutece (an old Roman arena), and walking in the Jardin de Plantes (the botanical gardens). The weather in December may not be ideal for this, though...

Thanks!
I%26#39;ll look up in our guide the Arena as it maybe too cold for the Jardin des Plantes!

If you%26#39;re looking for somewhere indoors...that%26#39;s perhaps a bit off the usual %26#39;beaten track%26#39;, then check out--
MUSÉE JACQEMART-ANDRÉ--158 Blvd. Haussmann (btwn: rue de Teheran %26amp; rue de Courcelles) 75008 Metro: Miromesnil %26amp; Saint Philippe du Roule--

and do a very pleasant luncheon or afternoon Tea in the Jacquemart-André Café (not too shabby).

I don%26#39;t know how close this is to the Place Monge, but we go to Le Baron Bruge, a local wine bar, every trip now. You can order any of a huge assortment of wine by the glass and sit either inside at a small table with everyone esle or outside staning up. And you can order small platters of various meats and cheese etc. to go with the wine. Check it out...
