Where to stay one night on way to Sameons?

Hi, Any advice on the following would be appreciated. We are arriving from Venice to Geneva on a Friday afternoon, and are planning on one night in Geneva, then we%26#39;re going to Samoens for a week and dropping car back to Geneva airport to fly on to London with easyjet. What side of the airport should I hire the car from? French or Swiss? I%26#39;d rather it be easy to drop back. I understand there%26#39;s a swiss auto pass required.

Would we be better off to stay somewhere en route to Samoens (in France)overnight and bypass Geneva altogether? I understand it%26#39;s only a short drive, but we cannot get into our Samoens accomodation until the Saturday, so would also like a suggestion on a village to stay enroute. Family 2 adults and 3 children (9,11,13), so we%26#39;ll have a people mover no doubt! Thanks in advance for any help.

See my reply in the Geneva forum.

Samoens is only an hour from Geneva, so you could go straight there from the airport.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Our accomoidation is not available until the Saturday, and the flight to Geneva is only available on a Friday. So any suggestions regarding a village we could stay in for a night (which is on the way) would be appreciated.

I would simply stay in Geneva. Lots to see and do there.

Otherwise, the Bonneville area would be a good choice. Look at:

A bit farther on is the Cluses area. Options here include:

www.le-bargy.com

lebois.logistic-di.com

www.hotelbellespistes.com

www.lasimoniere.com

Thanks so much for your assistance.
