travel from nice airport to nice city

hello fellow travellers,

I am travelling to Nice in late october.

I do not have transfers booked from Nice airport to Nice city.

My travel agent advised it may cost approx 30-40 euro by private transfer or taxi.

I believe there is public buses but my elderly mother and I will both have suitcases/hand luggage...

Is the bus service to Hotel Comte de Nice (@ rue de Dijon) an easy route to negotiate?

Please help...

Hi Davo,

I am no expert, so I hope someone more knowledgable will confirm if my advice is correct.

The airport bus you want is the 99. It goes from terminal 1%26amp;2 to the train station which is a 5 minute walk from your hotel.

It costs 4 euros each and you can use the ticket again that day if you want, on local buses and tram.

People travel with loads of luggage and you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem as there%26#39;s specific racks, and presumably your mother is fairly fit.

If you cope with your luggage at the airport, which you obviously will, the bus will be fairly easy.

Yes, I can confirm that Elaine is correct. The Number 99 bus service goes from Nice airport to the main train station in Nice. At 4 Euro it is much cheaper than taking a taxi.

once you get the bus to the main train station its about 15-20 mins walk to your hotel if you don%26#39;t know the route. its only 10 minutes if you know the short cuts

you can then get the tram one stop to Liberation and your hotel is a couple of minutes walk from there -you can use the same ticket as for the bus so don%26#39;t bend it.

this is a good map of nice

the tram stoop liberation is just by the gare de sud on avenue malaussena

walk backdown the road a wee bit from the tram stop till you see the bakery zambetti and turn right into rue clement roassal -don%26#39;t keep going past the bakery -the hotel is just a minute or two round the corner on the right hand side
