Itinerary for Paris and French Alps

Hello,

I would like to draw on the knowledge of those that have spent time in both Paris and the French Alps. My husband and I are going to France for the first time in March. We have two weeks and from what I have read, the entire two weeks in Paris would be too much. So I am thinking of travelling (by car or train?) to Reims, Epernay and Troyes on the way to the Alps for some skiing.

Can anyone give me an idea if this is possible and the amount of time we would need in each spot for sightseeing and sipping the wine? Also, recommend a good place to ski that in not too expensive?

The above plans are very loose at the moment, I have booked flights and thats it, the rest I am still research, so I would greatly appreciate any guidance.
