Salut!
I am trying to find a reasonably priced apartment for my very (very) budget-conscious parents for 4 nights, on the last leg of their first trip out of the land of Oz and Dad%26#39;s fist trip to Paris.
Normally, I would be looking for something more central, but Mum and I are staying a week in the Latin Quarter and - as well as seeming like pretty good value for the price - this apartment is in Montmartre, which would give Mum a different take on Paris.
However, I don%26#39;t really know the area well at all (in terms of whether it is reasonably quiet and %26quot;safe%26quot;) having only visited Montmartre rather than having stayed there. Metro is Abbesses and apparently the apartment is 50 metre from Rue Lepic.
Any info on the area/apartment/agency greatly appreciated. (By the way, have searched the TA site and noted centreparis gets pretty good reviews. Thanks to toutou, Denise and others who have shared their experiences.)

I like rue Lepic very much. It is a bit touristy, but I still like it.
I don%26#39;t like the immediate area around Le Moulin Rouge as I think it is a bit dirty and smelly, but that is a slight bit over, so I wouldn%26#39;t think it would be such an issue. Also, that is my own opinion and others probably feel differently.
We%26#39;ve stayed in Montmarte and liked the experience. If the apt. looks as though it meets your needs, I wouldn%26#39;t hesitate.
As to Centreparis agency. As you%26#39;ve noted, I like them. If you are on a budget, it is hard to beat them. David is great. The rest of the staff is nice, but some don%26#39;t speak much of any English. Their rental contracts are easy to read (English and French) and very basic, no fifty extra paragraphs telling you what you can and cannot do. I like the fact that there are NO security deposits taken. The price you see is the price you pay - you can take or leave the cleaning fee (which is also reasonable).
Some people have experienced slow or no responses from them (via email). I suggest that if this happens to you, by all means, email them again and remind them that you did not get a reply the first time. Normally, that will do the trick. However, if you want to skip all that, just call them. You can ask the questions you want and get the ball rolling.

They are in the process of moving their offices from the 2nd to the 10th. I don%26#39;t know exactly how long this is going to take, so that could affect response time.
