7 Nights in Paris - too tight to travel to Geneva?

Dear travellers,

I will be going to Paris during mid of Nov and stop over for 7 Nights. I need your advice for my following plans:

Option 1: Paris - Geneva - Bern - Paris

- I have dilemma to decide if i should travel to Geneva and Bern? These 2 places look awesome for me, i put this plan as priority, but if it is too constraited (eg time-consuming of traveling, expensive fares), i would benefit my time with other plan.

Option 2: Spending more days in Paris and consider day trip to Brussel/Luxemburg, or other nearby cities in France?)

Option 3: Your suggestion is more than welcome!

-----------------------------

My next question is very dependent on the final itinerary: should i consider to buy eurorail pass? or point-to-point face on the spot? Whihc one could benefit more? Note: I am below 26yo.

My interest of traveling including sightseeing, backpacking, and photographing.

Thanks in advanced!

I spent nine nights in Paris and had no desire to leave for other destinations; you%26#39;ll easily be able to fill your seven days, and in the process you%26#39;ll really get to know one of the world%26#39;s greatest cities. I%26#39;ve visited over 40 countries and only found a couple of places that can properly be compared to Paris. Enjoy!

Brugge is a good option for a day trip. It%26#39;s a town in Belgium about 2 and a half hours away by train from Paris.

I paid 150 US dollars round trip (including train from Brussels to Brugge) , but if you book on Thalys early, you can get it for less. You will have to transfer trains, probably in Brussels.

If you need any information on how to get there, just message me. I found it to be a bit confusing booking the trip, but it was well worth it!

Apart from time and $$$ costs, it really depends oh how you like to spend your time. If you want to get to know a city like Paris you need to spend a decent amount of time there.

With 7 days, I wouldn%26#39;t even be considering a day trip to Versailles.

I think the trip to Switzerland will take up too much of your time, but I agree with a previous poster that a jaunt to Belgium could fit in. You could take the train to Brussels and look around for a few hours, then continue to Brugge (or Bruges), which is absolutely charming, for the night, returning to Paris the next day.

I don%26#39;t think you would really need a rail pass, but do check into youth fares. I believe they have good options for people under 26 years.

Please remember the weather may not be very nice for outdoors activity in mid November, especially in the mountains . Hiking trails may be very wet, or even have snow on them.

Seven nights in Paris, all I would do is stay in Paris, but , if you really want to see one other place you could get a point to point ticket( you will be able to get the youth discount) for Brugges, or take the Eurostar to London , for one day. Or visit Versailles , which is best option, fast( only 40 minutes by train) cheap ( train ticket and pass for admittance to Versailles will only cost 21 euros)and easy to do.
