lunch in cannes in October

arriving Nice airport in the morning October !!, 1008, can not get into our villa until after 16hrs. Others arriving on train, also in morning. We love to eat, do not want to splurge, but eat well, near the quay at Cannes would be a good first day I think. Or we are open to other suggestions. traveling up to Seillanes for 2 weeks. Need to spend a nice four hours eating and then shopping at LeClerc and then settle in. Some love bouillabaisse, one is allergic to shell fish, all are %26quot;gourmands%26quot;. This may be one of our few meals %26quot;out%26quot; as we have good cooks along -- so atmosphere, food, time to sit and relax. Where should we head?

Any and all suggestions are welcome. One thing -- we do not need %26quot;trendy%26quot;. Jabes

You might try La Pizza, down at the far end of the marina as the Croisette bends toward Le Suquet. The pizza is fabulous, but there%26#39;s lots more on the menu. Sit ono the covered terrace if you can: great people-watching.

Lunchtime menus are generally good value. My suggestions round the old port area would include:

For fish

%26lt;%26lt;Astoux et Brun on the corner of rue Louis Blanc and rue Felix Faure one street up from the old port.

%26lt;%26lt;Gaston Gastounette on Quai St Pierre alongside the old port.

For local atmosphere and great bistro food:

%26lt;%26lt;Taverne de Lucullus by the Forville market ,near the port

Luggage can be stored at the rail station if necessary.

Bon apetit
