eurostar info/experiences

We are supposed to be travelling to Paris on Sat 4th october on eurostar.I have been checking their website and they have info on for those travelling up to 30th sept.I wondered if anyone had any info as to whether things may have improved by then. Also what type of delays people travelling on Eurostar in the last few days have experienced.

As we are only going for three nights not sure if we should cancel and go in the spring, as don%26#39;t want to spend the bulk of our time in eurostar terminals.

just got back from Paris. we took the Eurostar from London to Paris with no problems/delays. luckily we got out early enough in the day to not be affected by the chunnel fire!

We took the eurostar from amsterdam to brugge and then from brugge to paris, both in late august. we bought the tickets online through their website. we experienced absolutely no problems at all. the trains were always on time.

This thread provides more info...and I%26#39;ve documented my recent experiences there: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k22486…

On Tuesday this week I travelled from Innsbruck to Northern Scotland in less than 24 hours despite the problems with the Channel Tunnel; I simply had 40 minutes to wait for connecting night train from Euston instead of 2 hours.

Eurostar%26#39;s press releases indicate that an improved service is expected in October - I suspect one of the underground crossovers will be brought into use thus reducing section subject to single line working from around 50km to 25km. If you are going to Paris for 3 days it%26#39;s well worth making the trip as delays generally appear to be confined to 40 minutes or so. I would however suggest that those booked just for a day trip either reschedule or accept a full refund.

Eurostar have just announced that service will be running at %26#39;near 100% capacity%26#39; by the end of this week. The first underground crossover is being brought into use on Monday and the 2nd crossover on Wednesday - this revised operation will reduce the section subject to single line working to around 33km / 17km respectively from current 50km.
