My wife and I will be going to Paris for the first time. We are in our 60%26#39;s and would like to have a convenient base for the major sights. The have decided to book either the Hotel Ares Eiffel or Hotel La Perle. This trip to Paris will be at the end of November.
I would appreciate any suggestions or comments regarding these two three-star hotels.
Thanks.

I like the location of the Hotel la Perle (more central) and the decor of the Hotel Arles Eiffel.
However – and this is outside your brief - but if I was going to spend €200+ a night I would pick a really nice apartment on the Ile de la Cite/Ile St Louis.
If you have a week, parisaddress has a number of places I’d rent in a heartbeat which are in that range or below: BELL12, DAUPH21, CHAN10, CLOIT 6 (we’ve stayed in this apartment), ORLE4, PONT401…
If you have less than a week, there are other agencies than accommodate shorter stays. Places recommended on TA include perfectlyparis (we’ve booked with them for our next stay), guestapartment and vacationinparis.

I think for a couple in their 60s for a first visit, a hotel is an excellent choice. They%26#39;ll have hotel services, and importantly, a concierge or front desk for questions and help. For only two people a hotel is great (we rented an apartment for this summer, we we needed space for five and didn%26#39;t want to pay for two hotel rooms.) Both hotels seem lovely, check out the reviews on this site for each and then decide. You might like the 1st District also, near the Louvre/Tuileries.
