we will be travelling to Paris on July 1 2009. 6 adults and one 13 year old. we want to stay within walking distance of all the main attractions. Any suggestions as to where we should stay. A decent, clean 3-4 star hotel.

You need to get some guide books and do some research on your own so you can come to the forum with specifics for specifics.
Once you%26#39;ve done some reading you%26#39;ll be able to decide which locations most appeal to your group. That gives us some parameters - there are literally hundreds of hotels in Paris, so there has to be some limitation other than 3 or 4 stars.
You also haven%26#39;t specified how many rooms or suites you will require, or a target room rate, nor do you say how long you wish to stay in Paris.
The alternative to doing your own research is to go to a travel agency. You%26#39;ll have to decide which you prefer to do.

parismarais.com/4-star-hotels-paris-marais.h… This web site has a link to 3 star, 2 star and budget hotels.
What do you think your budget will be? All 6 adults in one room? 3 rooms? The metro allows you stay almost anywhere, but the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th arrondissments are the closest to the main attractions.
