Airport to Villa Magdalena, Avenue du Capitaine Scott, help

Hello,

can you please advice what bus to get and where to get off please?

I am arriving Friday late afternoon for a long weekend in Nice. Looks like the weather will be nice too, so very much looking forward to it and am currently just going through all the tips on Trip Advisor on where to go and what to see!

Also, if you could recommend a nice Cafe to have breakfast in the area where our villa is please?

Thanks for your help,

G

I looked at google maps and the next major road is Boulevard Carnot. Avenue du Capitaine Scott then seems to be in walking distance. So, which bus should I taker to get to Boulevard Carnot please?

thanks

You may find it better to get a taxi from to your accommodation. By public transport, you%26#39;ll need to get bus 98 all the way to the bus station (last stop with the winter timetable). Once at the bus station, you could change onto the 100, which is just a couple of stands away, and get off at the first stop after the port. The 98 will cost 4 euros and the 100 will cost 1 euro.

There are a couple of cafes at the bottom of Blvd Carnot, where it meets the port, but I%26#39;ve never tried them. There%26#39;s a great Italian restaurant at the sea end of the Blvd Stalingrad, but I don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;re open for breakfast. If you continue uphill on Blvd Carnot, you come to the crossroads with Blvd de Mont Boron, where there%26#39;s a Champion supermarket and a bar tabac. The bar tabac is friendly and has a back room overlooking the sea. It looks like it should be open for breakfast, but I%26#39;m never in that area so early. It%26#39;d take you 5 to 10 mins walking to get there, and like I say, it%26#39;s uphill. Your best bet is to walk to the port, no more than 5 mins downhill, where there are plenty of shops, bars and cafes.

thanks, this is excellent and I have printed the info to take with me. Breakfast at the port sounds excellent, can%26#39;t wait.

You can use the same ticket from the bus 98 on the bus 100 within the ligne d%26#39;azur tarif zone - so don%26#39;t bend your ticket , you will need to validate it again when getting on the 100 bus = a bent ticket won%26#39;t work in the machine and they are non refundable.

You may also need to tell the driver where you are going when you validate the ticket because they obviously don%26#39;t want folk to use the ligne d%26#39;azur tickets when they could be getting you to buy a TAM company ticket.

The ligne d%26#39;azur tarif zone is shown here

lignedazur.com/ftp/FR_plan/Nice%20CANCA.pdf

but for the 100 bus it goes as far as cap d%26#39;ail.

You can use the ticket again later to ride on the trams and buses as the 4 euros ticket is valid all day- as long as its validated every time you enter a new bus/tram and you are not going outside the ligne d%26#39;%26#39;azur zone.

If taking the 100 bus as far as Monaco etc then you pay one euro and can%26#39;t use a ligne d%26#39;azur ticket -you just pay the driver one euro and they give you a flimsy reciept-type ticket.

I don%26#39;t have any tips for a cafe breakfast but there are a lot of cafes in the port area and there is bound to be one to suit.

All my friends and family prefer to buy stuff at a boulangerie and take it back to the hotel or bring it to our house for breakfast and spend the money saved on a nice lunch out.
