Kyriad Gare du Nord hotel

has anyone ever stayed at The Kyriad Gare du Nord Hotel. It is righr across the street from Gare du Nord train station. I figured it would be a good location for my daughter and me to stay when we go to Paris next May.

I have been reading some travel bookks about paris. The area around the train station is receiving a lot of bad reviews. I just want a hotel that is close to the station. We are going to going to London on the Eurostar for a few days and wanted to be close,

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I don%26#39;t know that hotel, but the area around Gare du Nord doesn%26#39;t have many good points apart from being close to the station ... which means it%26#39;s further from other attractions. If you chose a more interesting area, such as the Latin Quarter, you could easily take a taxi or the Metro to Gare du Nord for your Eurostar trip.

Not knowing any better, we stayed at the Mercure Paris Terminus Nord which is also right across the street from the station.

About the only advantage was on the day we left we checked out in the morning, left our bags with the concierge at the hotel, and then came back late afternoon to collect them just before taking the Eurostar back to London.

We didn%26#39;t find the area at all attractive and would never stay there again. The cost of a taxi to take you and your bags somewhere more central is well worth it.

I wouldn%26#39;t send my worst enemy to stay in the area surrounding the Gare du Nord on their first trip to Paris. It%26#39;s just not pleasant.

It doesn%26#39;t make a difference where you stay as far as proximity to the train station. You can easily get your hotel to call you a taxi and take you to the Gare du Nord the day you leave. Don%26#39;t let that decide where you will stay...there are so many better options.

Thank all of you for your help. Luckily I was able to cancel the reservation and book a much better hotel close to The Louvre.
