Hotel de la porte doree and the area!!

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has ever stayed in this hotel? read good reviews about it but not really sure where it is exactly in paris! how long would it take to get to the louvre for example? also does anyone know how much a 2 day/2 park ticket to disneyland is and if you can pay at the gates?? thanks a lot!

Porte doree is on the edge of Paris. Not an ideal choice for sightseeing but there are buses and metros.

According to the published RATP works schedule, PORTE DORÉE Metro station will be closed for renovations and no trains will stop herefrom Monday September 8, 2008 to Tuesday December 2, 2008.

If your plan is to commute out to DLP for two(2) days during your proposed visit, then you might be best served by searching for a hotel that is more convenient to one of the RER %26#39;A%26#39; ligne stations--CHARLES DEGAULLE-ÉTOILE, AUBER, CHATELET-LES HALLES, GARE DE LYON, NATION. The RER %26#39;A-4%26#39; ligne is the most convenient access to DLP.

thanks for the info! do you mean that it%26#39;s closed to go to disneyland or are there no metros even going to the city from the hotel? worried now!!! thanks

The Porte Dorée Metro station has been closed for renovatin since September 8th and will remain so until December 2nd.

However, the Michel Bizot station (previous station on line 8) is a 10 minutes walk from the Hotel de la Porte Dorée, so no need to worry there.

I%26#39;ve just returned from a wonderful week in Paris and was very pleased with the stay at this hotel.

I%26#39;d say it will take you about 25-30 minutes from the moment you step out of the hotel to the Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre metro station.

Have a great time in Paris!

The PORTE DORÉE Metro station on the #8 ligne is temporarily Closed. You can%26#39;t use it. You will simply have to walk a slightly longer distance (275 meters vs. 75 meters) along the tree-lined, Ave. Daumesnil to the MICHEL BIZOT Metro station or use the #46 bus routes that run through the area. There%26#39;s a stop for the #46 bus right near the hotel.

But even if the PORTE DORÉE Metro station were functioning, this would still be an inconvenient loction to %26#39;..commute..%26#39; to and from DisneyLand Paris. You would need to take the #8 Metro ligne to DAUMESNIL Metro and transfer over to the #6 Metro ligne to NATION, then transfer again over to the RER %26#39;A-4%26#39; ligne train to MARNE LA VALLÉE-CHESSY-DLP.
