Great advice with the map. If you forget spend a couple of euros and buy one. We did and lots of people came up to us to ask directions or where to get a map. Pere Lachaise is huge, and even with a map, it%26#39;s hard to find your way around.

One more tip is to start your visit at the Gambetta metro stop rather than the Pere Lachaise stop. This way you will be walking downhill as you go.
