My husband and I are visiting Reims in October 2008. We would like to buy some red wine %26#39;en vrac%26#39; for bottling at home. Does anyone know a good place to go? All we hear about is the %26#39;fizzy stuff%26#39;. Do they make red wine at all in this region?

The only red wine made in the Champagne region is Coteaux Champenois, made particularly in the area around the village of Bouzy, but it would never be sold %26#39;en vrac%26#39;.
You are better off buying it in the Calais region. Try the InterCaves chain of shops - www.intercaves.fr. You might find one in the Champagne region too. These days you might be better off buying a 10-litre wine box, which stays good after opening for up to 3 months.

Thank you for the advice. It saves us loads of time because now we won%26#39;t go searching for vinyards all weekend!
