Train tickets from Bayeux to Paris

We will be visiting Normandy sites and will be taking the train from Paris to Bayeux late October. If I buy a round trip ticket and don%26#39;t make the scheduled train, will I have a problem using the return ticket to Paris on a later train? Will the train be full? Will they honor the ticket for a later train? Thanks for your help...

you can get open tickets on the SNCF with no date or time.

In October the trains shouldn%26#39;t be full.

You can always buy a full fare ticket on SNCF that is good on any train. But, there are a lot of good deals that are restricted.

My wife and I traveled from and to Paris two weeks ago for $104 + a $24 fee to Rail Europe. That was for a 14 day advance purchase on a specific train. You could get the fare on a mid day train from Bayeux or the trains at 18:21 and 19:36, but not the train at 17:21. I had a ticket on the 19:36 train and was thinking about returning an hour earlier, but they would not change the ticket. The Bayeux station agent just pointed to the line on the ticket that said it can%26#39;t be changed.

The available trains vary based on demand. If you have the time and can pick a specific time it%26#39;s well worth the trouble to check Rail Europe.

Oops !!!

Forgot to mention that the regular fare is $228, compared with our cost of $128.

MLbelmont: How did you purchase the discounted ticket?

I bought mine through the Rail Europe web site. They arrived by Fed Ex several days later.

I found it easy to palce the order. Let me know if you need help.
